Shannon Brown is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Founder & Owner of Psychotherapy & Forensic Services, LLC (2014) in Maryville, Tennessee. She/x is a therapist who is devoted to providing a safe space for people living in Maryville and all of Tennessee. She/x focuses on increasing every person's sense of empowerment & self-determination, providing advocacy to minimize barriers for change & growth, & educating all clients & family/community members. Shannon provides therapy for children, teenagers, adults, couples & families. Shannon holds a master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University, is an Irene Sogg Gross Humanitarian Service award recipient (2007), is a Professional Achievement in Direct Practice award recipient (2018) & was inducted as an honored Member of the Hall of Achievement (2018).

Shannon employs a variety of interventions including: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Meditation & Mindfulness Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & Solution-Focused Therapy. She/x has almost two decades of experience working with vulnerable & oppressed people, including women & children, victims of violence, LGBTQ+ individuals and families, homeless individuals, & impoverished & isolated Appalachian Americans.

Bethany Jones is our Chief Operations Officer for Psychotherapy & Forensic Services. They/she provides safe, compassionate therapy for our teenagers, young adults to older adults, and couples. Bethany is especially thorough in assessing issues, problems, difficulties, and hardships, and is skilled in exploring any and all possible solutions to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals. They/she has a talent for helping people find their voice in the midst of the confusing world of oppression, discrimination, and prejudice. Providing a calm space to safely exist and breathe, to explore your life, and to realize what has been holding you back is the protected space that Bethany provides every person they/she works with. In addition to these skills, Bethany is a Master's level-student at the University of Tennessee School of Law, working toward a degree in Legal Studies. Their/Her passion for helping others motivates them/her to continue learning how to become an effective and proficient agent of change.

Korrie Xavier views therapy (and the world) through an intersectional, social justice, trauma- and attachment-informed lens. He works with individuals, couples, and families living in Maryville, Knoxville Tn & all of Tennessee, who are navigating
Korrie is LGBTQ+ kink, and polyam safe, knowledgeable, & affirming. He is a certfied OUTCare Health provider. Korrie provides free letters for gender-affirming medical interventions.
Korrie is knowledgeable and capable of safely working with veterans and people who are dealing with the carceral (legal) system. He provides psychoeducation and support for building resilience, learning effective communication, understanding emotions, and being fully present and embodied.
His approach is informed by a variety of philosophies and models including Dialectic Behavioral Informed Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Buddhist/mindfulness philosophy. He believes that a diagnosis does not define who people are, have been, or will become and prefers to work collaboratively to determine what works best in regards to the therapeutic process.

Eden Batista was raised in Maryville and is familiar with what it means to grow up and live in a rural county as an LGBTQ+ person. Her background and experiences are in crisis work and crisis management, which includes a sensitivity for the stressful processes of hospitalization. Because of their crisis work, they have an extensive knowledge of local resources that can be helpful for people who feel lost and alone.
Eden focuses on helping clients achieve clarity of problems and/or issues, regain stability, and achieve personal happiness. They have compassion for all people and because of this, they are dedicated to providing a welcoming space that is aesthetically and emotionally pleasing and relaxing. Eden’s therapeutic style is frequently described as warm, creative, compassionate, and down-to-earth, with a lightness that helps people to feel at ease.
Eden works with pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, and adults and utilizes the following interventions and theoretical frameworks: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic theory, Attachment Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eclectic, Expressive Arts Therapy, Strengths Based, Interpersonal, Trauma Focused, and Systems Theory.

Carla Underwood
joined the therapists of Psychotherapy & Forensic Services in May 2021. She is the friendly & warm face that greets everyone who walks through our door. She is an expert when it comes to info about cars and sneakers. She's working toward completing her undergraduate degree. She is enthusiastic about helping people, especially those from our LGBTQ+ community.
Ettrick Brown
joined the therapists of Psychotherapy & Forensic Services in March 2020. He loves to assist with the therapeutic process by sitting in people's laps, licking them, cuddling, & sometimes just sleeping close by. He is very mindful of noises and does his very best to remain quiet so people can concentrate. He believes that
are the most important qualities to have. His favorite toys squeek & he loves to chew on bones. He stated that he has "an imperfect smile & I love that about myself."
